02 / Find your service

Start with the challenge. Connect the services.

Emergency cargo logistics

For a shipment with a critical delivery requirement, start with the deadline and the operational impact. Share when the cargo will be ready, where it must go and what is at stake so the team can assess feasible transport options and handovers.

International freight forwarding

Coordinate air, ocean and road freight around the route, cargo and delivery window. A forwarding plan connects collection, transport and delivery arrangements, with customs and storage added where the shipment needs them.

Project cargo logistics

Complex cargo needs a plan built around its physical characteristics. Start with dimensions, weight, lifting information, access restrictions and the project schedule. Transport feasibility and handling requirements need to be assessed before arrangements are confirmed.

Customs clearance and trade compliance

Bring the goods description, commercial documents, origin and destination into the planning conversation early. The team can discuss clearance and documentation coordination for the route. Applicable duties, permits and responsibilities depend on the goods and jurisdiction.

Warehousing and distribution

Connect long- or short-term storage with the next stage of your supply chain. Discuss stock volumes, handling requirements, expected storage periods and outbound destinations so the warehousing and distribution requirement can be assessed together.

Importer of Record (IOR) services

For imports into Europe and Asia, discuss the party responsible for the import and the associated documentation and compliance obligations. IOR support is assessed for the particular destination, product and transaction so the importer role can be established before dispatch.

Discuss IOR requirements

03 / Choose the right approach

Air, ocean or road? Start with the shipment.

Mode selection is a balance between timing, cargo size, available routes and total transport requirements. A single journey may combine different modes, especially when collection and final delivery sit inland.

04 / Global reach, practical coordination

Support where your supply chain needs it.

Global Sky Logistics has warehousing hubs in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Hong Kong. These locations connect storage and distribution planning with regional contact offices. Discuss your inventory, handling needs and onward destinations to identify the right location.

05 / Before your first conversation

A clearer brief makes a stronger plan.

You do not need to know the final transport solution. Start with the information you have, and identify what still needs to be confirmed.

Route
Collection and delivery locations, including postal codes where available.
Cargo
A specific goods description, quantity, packed dimensions and gross weight.
Timing
Cargo-ready date, required arrival date and any fixed appointments.
Handling
Special handling, temperature needs or potentially restricted goods, including batteries.
Trade documents
Commercial invoice, packing list and agreed trade terms, if available.
Storage and delivery
Expected storage duration, inventory profile and onward distribution requirements.

Useful references for shipment preparation

These independent references explain two common planning topics. They do not replace the shipment-specific checks required for your route.

ICC: Incoterms® rules

Understand how the agreed trade term allocates delivery tasks, costs and risks between seller and buyer. Share the chosen rule and named place with your logistics team.

IATA: dangerous goods by air

Check the official starting point for air cargo dangerous goods requirements. Identify potentially regulated goods early so classification and handling requirements can be assessed before booking.

Logistics services FAQ

Can Global Sky Logistics arrange more than one service for a shipment?

Yes. A requirement can combine freight forwarding, customs coordination, storage and distribution. Share the complete journey and any fixed deadlines so the team can discuss which stages need to be connected.

How do I choose between standard forwarding and emergency cargo support?

Start with the cargo-ready date and the latest acceptable arrival. If a delay would disrupt an operation or a delivery commitment, explain the impact. The team can assess the requirement; urgency alone does not guarantee a particular transit time or available capacity.

What information is needed to discuss a freight requirement?

Provide the origin, destination, goods description, packed dimensions, gross weight, cargo-ready date and required arrival date. Add the agreed trade terms, available documents and any special handling or storage needs.

Where are the warehousing hubs located?

The listed hubs are in Pointe-Claire in Canada, Elk Grove in the United States, Sunbury-on-Thames in the United Kingdom, Rozenburg in the Netherlands and Tsuen Wan in Hong Kong. Confirm cargo suitability, space and handling requirements for the proposed location.

Are IOR services available in every country?

No universal coverage is assumed. Global Sky Logistics discusses IOR requirements in Europe and Asia, with suitability assessed by destination, product and transaction. Clarify the importer role before dispatch.

Can you guarantee customs clearance or a delivery date?

Clearance depends on the goods, documents, applicable rules and authority decisions. Transport also depends on the route, capacity and operating conditions. Discuss the required date and constraints so the proposed arrangement can be assessed before confirmation.
